Conditions of use CERN-PH bicycles
Destination :
The CERN-PH bicycles are CERN vehicles and are for official use only.They are provided, in priority, to Summer Students and Users who may use them for journeys on and between CERN sites.They may be used by CERN Staff and the staff of CERN contractors, depending of availability.Journeys between CERN and a local residence are only authorized for Users and Summer Students.
Insurance :
The bicycles have third party insurance cover (RC) and are registered by CERN.They have an antitheft system but are not insured again theft.
Deposit :
The CERN-PH bicycles are free of charge but a CHF 100.- deposit is required in cash to PH Service Point 124 R-001.
Please note that a warranty of CHF 450.- can also be made by budget code..
Duration of use :
Usual duration is three month: However, bicycles have to be returned to the PH Service Point 124 R-001 at least three days befor CERN Christmas closure.After a maintenance service, bicycles will be available with their new insurance sticker ten days after the beginning of CERN year.
Cyclist's responsability :
The cyclist is personally responsible for theft and any damage resulting from improper use.
Each cyclist must have with him/her at all times:
- a valid passport or identity card (with visas if necessary)
- a valid CERN attestation issued by the User's Office, or valid "Legitimation" documents issued by the Swiss and French authorities
Technical help :
In case of technical problems, please come to PH Service Point 124 R-001.
Accidents :
On the CERN site, call the CERN Fire Brigade and Rescue Services (Tel : 74444).
Outside the CERN site involving serious injury to persons or major vehicle damage, call the Swiss Police or French Gendarmerie (Tel : 112 - European emergency number). Ensure that a copy of any report that they make is sent to the PH Service Point 124 R-001.
